As a Certified Master Grief Coach, I am often asked, “so, what is a grief coach”? My answer is that a grief coach provides personalized, future-focused support to help individuals navigate their grief, set goals for healing, and rediscover purpose after their loss. A grief coach empowers those that are grieving to take actionable steps toward healing and growth. Here are seven tangible ways I can support you as a Grief Coach
  1. Moving Forward with Your Grief: I focus on helping clients move forward by setting actionable goals, developing coping mechanisms, practicing self-care and envisioning a future beyond grief. I emphasis personal growth, creating meaning and building a life full of joy after loss.

  2. Providing Practical and Actional Guidance: I provide practical tools and strategies that clients can implement in their daily lives. Together, we identify where you are struggling with your grief, and I provide personalized resources to support you.

  3. Creating and Achieving Goals: I focus on the short-term by encouraging small steps towards healing from your grief. We do this by setting actionable goals with specific outcomes, such as regaining a sense of normalcy or developing a new routine. Smaller goals can turn into larger goals, like finding meaning from your loss.

  4. Empowerment and Motivation: I work to empower my clients to commit to their grief and to identify the life they want to live after their loss. Then I act as a motivator and accountability partner, to encourage proactive steps towards healing.

  5. Personalized and Flexible Programs: I provide highly personalized coaching programs that are flexible to my clients’ needs and that adapt over time as progress is made. I do this through 1:1 online coaching sessions and email support.

  6. Personal and Professional Growth: I work with clients to find a balance between their grief and their personal and professional life. Life does not stop for grief, so learning to navigate grief within the context of life is important. This can include finding success in their careers, relationships and other personal life goals.

  7. Leveraging Strengths and Core Values: Everyone has strengths and core values that guide their life. I work with clients to identify their strengths and their core values and empower them to leverage them in their grief journey as a mechanism for healing.

Healing from grief is personal and is the direct result of the commitment you make to your grief. By combining compassion and empathy with my coaching strategies and techniques, I am committed to supporting others in their grief journey to create the life they want after their loss.

Grief is a journey and does not need to define your life. I learned this lesson through a lot of self-reflection and hard work after my husband died. I’d be honored to share my experience and expertise with you to best support you in your journey through grief.
